Pro Peninsula supports community-based conservation of coastal ecosystems and natural resources along the coast of the Baja California peninsula. This coastline plays home to a wealth of vital habitats, including mangrove ecosystems, estuaries, coral reefs, and natural bays and barrier islands. The diverse habitat of the zone supports a wealth of biodiversity: grey whale nurseries, vital sea turtle nesting and foraging habitat, hundreds of species of birds, as well as some of the most productive fishing grounds in all of Mexico.
