Berrendo
The Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve is the last remaining habitat for less than one hundred  Berrendo, or Peninsular Pronghorn antelope (Antilocapra americana. peninsularis). The Berrendo is the fastest mammal on the North American continent, and one of the fastest in the world, reaching speeds up to 55mph.  While since the 1930s programs to the Berrendo have succeeded in the U.S. and parts of Mexico, the species hovers close to extinction on the Baja California peninsula. Visit IMADES for more information.
