Planning for Our Future: Ensuring Pro Peninsula’s Health and Sustainability

In order to ensure future growth and sustainability, Pro Peninsula is working with Realize Consulting to undertake an organizational effectiveness project focused on creating a well-defined management structure and the systems needed for long-term sustainability.

Our goal over the next year is to carry out a successful transition plan, resulting in an organization led by a strong board and upper-management team with clear roles and responsibilities. This will better leverage existing resources, promote future evolution and organizational development as well as enhance communication. This transition will also allow our current Co-Directors the freedom to one day change the nature of their involvement with the organization, knowing that Pro Peninsula will be managed from a healthy and stable position.

We are excited about this project and what it will mean for the organization, as the changes we are about to undertake will move Pro Peninsula into a position of long-term sustainability and allow us to better serve our constituents. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact Kama Dean at kama@propeninsula.org.

Touch the Lives of Hundreds of Youth:
Become an Ocean Connectors Intern Today!

Ocean Connectors is an environmental education program that crosses borders and cultural boundaries to link students in the U.S. and Mexico in order to create a shared sense of stewardship of natural resources.

Pro Peninsula is seeking an intern to assist with our Ocean Connectors project. This intern will attend field trips and classroom visits, work directly with underprivileged youth in San Diego, and experience the wonder of this binational environmental education project.

The Ocean Connectors Intern will need to dedicate approximately 4 hours per week between September 2008 and April 2009.

Don’t let this opportunity slip away! If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact Frances at frances@propeninsula.org. Or to learn more about this internship, visit Pro Peninsula's Volunteer Opportunities page.
